Alan Kaye
Alan Kaye has been a musician for over 50 years and a committed Christian for over 35 years. He grew up in Georgia and enjoyed a career in university and public libraries there, specializing in educational technology. He now lives in Montgomery, Alabama with his wife, Shirley. They have two grown sons, both musicians and baptized believers, one a band director. His personal pursuits include bluegrass and popular music. Alan has served as a deacon, youth leader, camp counselor, teacher, elder, and song leader in different Georgia congregations of the church of Christ. He sees a gap between the old hymns and modern, contemporary Christian music—a gap that needs to be filled by songwriters of hymns created for joyful and meaningful singing in worship. He has begun writing hymns and encouraging others to do the same. Alan and Shirley worship at the Eastern Meadows Church of Christ in Montgomery.
